The aim of Cardiff University Football Development Centre is to improve the technical ability and tactical understanding of promising young players and enable them to play and train at a higher level. Players who are excelling within the Cardiff University Football Development Centre will be provided with the opportunity to progress into the Cardiff and Vale Schools FA squads. Players in our programme will have the opportunity to develop their technical ability and tactical understanding in a structured and fun learning environment. The emphasis for our coaches is on developing players the FAW 'Welsh Way'. Players selected attend our Football Development Centre training sessions and fixtures in addition to any club/school football commitments. All players participate in a 3 week futsal (indoor football) block during the winter months to further challenge and expand their football education. Players are provided with sport science support and receive both mid/end of season individual development plans. Squad members receive quality coaching led by FAW/UEFA B Licence qualified coaches.

Triathlon
Uses flows of dynamic moves that target endurance, power, balance and cardio endurance. This high intensity class uses the momentum of the Kettlebell to help you improve your total-body strength and stability. This is a 45 minute class for general/inter-mediate ability.
With simpler movements & lower intensity, this class is perfect for people starting their fitness journey, older adults, families & anyone looking to build confidence. Circuit routines provide an all-body workout as you tackle exercises designed to get you fitter & stronger.

Gym

There are lanes dedicated for people wishing to swim lengths. These lanes are for adults (or young people and children who are serious swimmers). Training floats are available on request.
After a gym induction (which is carried out on your first visit), our Junior Gym sessions allow children between 11 - 17 to use the gym. Our friendly Fitness Instructors are on hand to offer support and guidance as well as the option of writing you a tailored training programme to help keep your gym sessions fresh.
This full body workout is achieved through high reps & non-cardio exercises using body bars, barbells, dumbbells and body weight.
A great full body workout, targeting those challenging areas. Sculpt, tone, conditioning and build strength whilst focusing on your bums, tums and thighs. This class does exactly what is says on the tin โ what more could you ask for!
